Ken McDonald, elected on October 19th, 2015 to the 42nd Parliament of Canada is the Member of Parliament for the beautiful riding of Avalon. Ken is a lifelong resident of Avalon and the former mayor of the town of Conception Bay South. As mayor of the second largest municipality in the province, Ken has demonstrated his ability to deliver results for his community, and proved his commitment to growth and prosperity.

As the MP for Avalon, Ken wants to be the voice of Avalon in Ottawa, and not the other way around. He is committed to voicing the concerns of his constituents in the House of Commons, whether it be employment, immigration, fisheries or veterans’ affairs, Ken is there for you.

Before seeking public office, Ken earned his Diploma in Accounting from the College of the North Atlantic and operated his own home appliance repair business. An active member of his community, he has volunteered with his local church parishes and the Lions Club for many years.

Recently, Ken was honoured with the appointment to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans. Along with his Liberal colleagues, Mr. McDonald is committed to acting in the best interest of Newfoundland and Labrador’s fisheries, to ensure that this vital industry remains a priority for your government.
