The Canada Summer Jobs Program gives tens of thousands of young Canadians the chance to gain skills and valuable work experience, while saving money to pay for their education. As in previous years, all not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with up to 50 employees now have an extra few days to apply for funding from the Government of Canada.
The Canada Summer Jobs program creates summer job opportunities which provide valuable work experience for full-time students aged 15-30 who intend to return to their studies in the next school year.
Providing good quality jobs helps small businesses and not-for-profit organizations while also supporting our local priorities and community development.
Not-for-profit employers can receive 100 percent of the provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage. Public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees across Canada can receive 50 percent of the of the provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage. All employers may be eligible for additional funding up to $3,000 per student with disabilities to accommodate the student within the workplace with personal tools and adaptations that the student requires to accomplish the tasks.
