Hi there Avalon, just a reminder that the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) deadline is July 26th, 2018 for the Small Projects stream.
The Enabling Accessibility Fund is a federal grants and contributions program which supports community-based projects across Canada aimed at improving accessibility and safety for people with disabilities in Canadian in communities and workplaces.
The Government of Canada is currently accepting applications from eligible applicants interested in receiving grant funding up to $100,000 from the Enabling Accessibility Fund for small projects.
This Fund supports the capital costs of construction, renovation and/or retrofit activities in workplaces and communities, as well as the provision of accessible technologies in:
- Workplace stream: facilities where people with disabilities work, or could work in the future; and,
- Community Accessibility stream: community space where programs and/or services are offered, or will be offered, to people with disabilities.
The Enabling Accessibility Fund works to support Canadians with disabilities as they participate in their communities and the Canadian labour market.
Also, the deadline for the Youth Innovation stream (up to $10,000, focused on youth between 15 and 30) is September 21st, 2018!
Youth interested in participating are required to identify accessibility barriers in public places or workplaces within their immediate and/or surrounding communities, and seek out interested organizations willing to work with them to develop an EAF accessibility project funding proposal.
